Thrifty Trends: Roaring Twenties

My latest obsession? Accessories that reflect the style of the 1920s. I’ve always loved waist-grazing strands of beads, ornate little clutches and embellished coats, but my love affair has been renewed since I just finished reading (make that listening to) Twenties Girl, the new novel from Sophie Kinsella. I breezed through the audio book in a couple of days (don’t judge – it makes commuting in city traffic a breeze) and I ate up every reference to sequined caps, drop waist dresses and heavily kohled eyes.
Had I not spent the past two years growing out my Posh Spice ‘do, I would be tempted to go all the way and don a sleek, flirty bob like Louise Brooks. Instead, I’ll get my flapper fix with these little nuggets of nostalgia.
